Agreement on Ratings among Mothers, Teachers, and Play Therapist on Progress of Preschool Children at Risk of Emotional Adjustment/Social Interaction Problems through Play Therapy

놀이치료가 감정조절/사회적 상호관계에 어려움이 있는 유아들에게 미치는 효과에 대한어머니, 교사, 놀이치료사의 평정의 일치

본 연구는 (1) 놀이치료를 받은 유아들이 향상을 보인 영역(예: 정서적 적응, 또래와 사회적 상호작용, & 성인과 사회적 상호작용)에 대한 어머니, 교사, 치료사가 평정, (2) 평정자들이 평가한 가장 괄목할 만한 유아들의 향상시기(예: 중재 전, 중재 중, & 중재 후 데이타), (3) 놀이치료를 통해 보인 유아들의 변화에 대해 어머니, 교사, 치료사간 평정의 유의미한 차이, (4) 유아의 향상에 관한 어머니, 교사, 치료사간 페어방식 평정의 유의미한 차이를 조사하였다. 한 명의 놀이치료사, 7명의 학령전기 감정조절/사회적 상호관계에 어려움이 있는 아동들, 그 어머니들, 7명의 교사들이 이 연구에 참여하였다. ‘사회적 유능성과 행동평정(SCBE: Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation)’으로 유아의 변화를 측정하였다. 프리드만 검정(Friedman test), 사후검정으로써 윌콕슨 검정 (Wilcoxon test as a post-hoc analysis), 크루스컬- 월리스 검정(Kruskal-Wallis test), 사후검정으로써 맨-휘트니 U 검정(Mann-Whitney U test as post hoc analysis), 기술통계(Descriptive statistics)가 데이터 분석에 사용되었다. 교사와 놀이치료사는 놀이치료가 아동들의 감정조절과 또래 친구들 간의 사회적 상호관계를 향상시키는 데 효과가 있다고 평정했다. 또한, 중재 전 데이타 평정에서 어머니, 교사, 치료사간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 그들의 평정차이는 중재 후 데이터로 갈수록 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 특수아동의 특수교육서비스 제공을 위한 조기 진단에 어머니와 교사, 치료사 간 협력의 필요성이 강조되었다.

The study aimed to examine the following areas: (1) Areas that mothers, teachers, and the therapist rate that children made an overall improvement (e.g., Emotional Adjustment, Social Interaction with Peers, & Social Interaction with Adults) through play therapy intervention; (2) Data points (e.g., Pre-Intervention, Mid-Intervention, & Post-Intervention data) that the raters evaluate that children made the greatest improvement, (3) Significant differences in ratings among mothers, teachers, and the therapist in terms of children’s improvement through play therapy; and (4) Pairwise differences in ratings among mothers, teachers, and the therapist regarding children’s improvement A play therapist, seven children with emotional adjustment/social interaction problems, their mothers, and teachers participated in this study. Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation (SCBE, Preschool) was utilized to measure the children’s progress. Friedman test, Wilcoxon test as a post-hoc analysis, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test as post hoc analysis, and descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. The results showed that the teachers and the therapist stated that play therapy had an effect on making improvements in the areas of the child’s emotional adjustment and social interaction with peers. Also, significant differences were found in the ratings of the Pre-Intervention data from the mothers, teachers, and the therapist and the differences of ratings amongst the individuals decreased by the Post-Intervention data. The similarities and differences in ratings from the three raters were discussed. Collaboration between mothers and educational professionals have been stressed in order to aid in the early identification of service provision to preschool children with special needs.
