Literature Review on Social Interventions for Individuals with Asperger Syndrome

아스퍼거를 위한 사회성 중재 문헌연구

아스퍼거(asperger) 증후군은 사회적인 상호작용을 이해하고 사회적 실마리를 (social cues)를 포착하는데 많은 어려움을 경험한다. 예를 들어 사교적 놀이의 규칙을 이해하지 못하거나, 적절한 감정 표현의 수준을 이해하지 못한다. 따라서 그들의 사회적 기능을 개선하기 위한 사회성 중재는 필수적이다. 일련의 현존하는 사회성 중재 연구들에 의하면, 특정한 사회성 중재(intervention)가 효과적이라고 보고한 바가 있으나, 아스퍼거에 관한 현존하는 사회성 중재연구에 대한 실제적인 연구들은 지극히 비약하다. 하여 이 연구의 목적은 지금까지 보고된(peer-reviewed) 논문 중 아스퍼거를 대상으로 한 실제적 경험(experimental studies) 중심의 사회성 중재 문학 연구들을 종합하고, 그것을 토대로 아스퍼거를 위한 보다 구체적이고 효과적인 사회성 중재를 요약 및 검토하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 수집되어진 연구들을 바탕으로 향후 사회성 중재 연구에 위한 지침을 제공하였다.

In light of the marked impairments individuals with Asperger Syndrome (AS) experience in understanding reciprocal social interactions and their failure to pick up social cues, interventions are necessary to improve their social functioning. While anecdotal reports have identified specific interventions as effective (Myles & Simpson 2003), few empirical investigations have been conducted that address social interventions for individuals with AS. The purposes of this literature review were to (a) review and synthesize existing studies on social interventions for individuals with AS and (b) explore and summarize existing social interventions that are available for this population. Based on the findings of the literature review, this article provides guidelines for future research on social interventions for individuals with AS.
