A Legal Study on Protection of Individual Medical Information

The share and use of medical information are in need continuously to properly copewith the circumstances for health and medicine changing rapidly. But medical informationis sensitively individual, which exposes private areas in itself. Collecting and holding it may intrude on private life. Furthermore, once intruded, it is difficult to recover private life because of its peculiarity. So it has to be protected particularly. Our country establishes lot of regulations on medical information protection through many regulations on medicine, but there is no comprehensive or concrete protection regulation, considering on publicity and particularity of medical information, and also there is no guidance, including detailed contents on protection, is established, either. In other words, the protection of medical information is insufficient. So, it is necessary to establish the comprehensive and concrete institutes in order to protect medical information properly, to create efficiency by using medical information, and to lookout and control the stream of private information.
