Determinants of the Agricultural Contacts Selection - Focus on NongHyup and Lump Sum Transactions -

Sustainable and stable trabe under a contract is crucial to farms as it provides stable financial source, makes it possible to make farm planning in advance and raise products` competitiveness. Especially because contract farming leads to predictable production and consumption, more con-tract-based farming is vital to develop agricultural commodities distribution sustem. It is because contract-based farming or lump sum transactions shorten product distribution process as, at the starting point of the distribution system, it has all the functions as product distribution and sales to consumer market and it also works as a retail market for producers. It is necessary to analyze determinant factors in selection of product retailers for contract farming expansion. On the other hand, it is highly likely that the the farm would consider not only contract farming with NongHyup but also lump sum transactions, the research analyzed quantitatively factors on farmet`s intention and their slection of fresh produce retailers using surveys and bivariate probit model, and sought ways to increase farming based on contract with NongHyup.
