Analysis for the Effects of Credit Transaction on Price Margin by Intermediary Wholesalers - Focused on Wholesalers in Garak Wholesale Market

The credit transaction causes intermediary wholesalers to have difficulty in management due to uncollectable accounts and additional tasks, including retrieval of sale credits. This study investigates current situation of credit transaction by the intermediary wholesalers of fruit and vegetable in Garak wholesale market and further asks how much the wholesalers put price margin due to the credit transaction. That is, how much the wholesalers shift the cost incurred by the credit transaction onto purchasers. The main surveyed contents are experience of the intermediary wholesalers, volume of monthly sales, monthly average of credit balance, annual average of frozen credits, and average marketing margin. In addition, we inquire intermediary wholesalers about their opinion for the introduction of a purchaser card system to reduce hardship due to the credit transaction. To acquire the data, a questionnaire survey was completed with 122 intermediary wholesalers in the Garak wholesale market.
