The Foot-and-Mouth Disease is a major limiting factor in the livestock industry of Korea. To cope with the outbreak of FMD, Korean government and industry has employed several counter-meas-ures such as road blockage-disinfection and stamping-out of infected animals. However, the situation could not be contained effectively. To understand and to control the spread of the disease better, a spatial-dynamic model of the disease has been built, using the system dynamics approach and the visualization technique with Spatial Map. The simulation result indicates that such a model can contribute to enhance the effi-ciency and effectiveness of the control measures. Several suggestions to improve the practicality of the model have been made.
