지방대학 신입생의 학업중단 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

An Analysis of the Factors Affecting Local College Freshmen’s Intention of Dropout: Focused on C-College.

본 연구의 목적은 전문대학 신입생의 학업중단 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 밝히는데 있다. 이를 위하여 J지역 소재 C전문대학교 신입생을 대상으로 2017년 5월 19일부터 5월 31일까지 자료를 수집하여, 599명의 데이터에 대해 t-test와 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 분석하였다. t-test 결과, 학업중단 의도가 높은 학생들은 그렇지 않은 학생들에 비해 가정환경ㆍ경제적 수준, 학업적 자기효능감, 교수와의 상호작용, 전공의 취업전망도, 대학생활적응도, 진로정체성의 모든 영역에서 유의미하게 그 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에 따르면, 전공의 취업전망도, 대학생활 적응도, 진로정체성 요인이 학업중단 의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 신입생들은 취업에 대한 전망도가 낮고 대학생활적응도가 낮고, 진로정체성이 낮을수록 학업중단을 고려할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 신입생들의 학업중단을 예방하기 위한 방안을 논의하고 후속 연구를 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the factors of academic dropouts on the intention of college freshmen’s dropouts. For this purpose, the freshmen were collected from C University in J area from May 19 to 31, 2017 and finally, 599 data were analyzed using t-test and logistic regression. The results are as follows; First, freshmen students with academic suspensions showed a significant difference in academic persistence in the home environment/economics difficulty, academic self-efficacy, professor-students interactions, major’s employment prospects, university life adjustment and career identity in all areas. Second, the prospects for employment in the field of major, university life adjustment, and career identity factors are influencing the intention of the suspension of academic dropouts. In other words, freshmen are less likely to have a employment, lower university life adjustment, and lower career identity, which means they are more likely to consider dropping their academic studies. Based on these findings, it was discussed policies to prevent freshmen from academic dropouts and suggested further study.
