Reorganisation for Education of Agricultural Economics in Korea

The education system for agricultural economics in Korea was started, since the Seoul National University was established in 1946. Thereafter, the number of the universities and colleges where the agricultural economics education program was established increased to 14 up to now. The education system for agricultural economics in Korea has been modified to be adopted to the changing social demand for the agriculture and agricultural economies in Korea. Recently the education system for Korean agricultural economics in Korea is facing with various challenges, such as over supply of the students, out-dated curricula, and poor coordination with the field works in the related industries. In order to solve these problems, it is strongly required to reform the education systems for Korean agricultural economics, such as reorganizing the programs and curricula, which have already been set up in the advanced countries. Several recommended programs, and curricula were discussed and suggested.
