중국 해외직접투자의 한국 내 입지선정에 관한 연구

A Study of Chinese FDIs’ Location Choice : in the Case of Korea

중국은 2001년 The World Trade Organization(WTO)에　가입 후 해외직접투자를 활발히 장려하고 있다. 중국 제조업 해외직접투자대상국가로 우리나라도 예외는 아니어서 2008년 이후 해외투자건수가 급속히 증가하고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 중국 제조업 신규 해외직접 투자의 우리나라에서의 입지동기에 대하여 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 추정결과 중국 해외직접투 자의 우리나라에서의 입지결정은 기존 다른 선진국의 해외직접투자 패턴과는 다르게 동일국가 집적변수가 주는 영향은 작아 우리나라 기업과의 네트워크 연계성이 클 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 기존 중국기업의 해외직접투자에 대한 선행연구에서도 관찰되었듯이 우리나라 내 지역입지선정에서도 노동생산성이 높은 지역을 입지로 선택하는 경향이 많아 중국의 우리나라에 대한 해외직접투자도 개발도상국들의 해외직접투자 목적과 유사함을 보여주었다.

　Chinese outward foreign direct investment(OFDI) has actively encouraged after joining WTO in 2001. As a target country for 　Chinese outward foreign direct investment, Korea in not an exception and since 2008 the number of 　Chinese outward foreign direct investment has been rapidly increasing. This paper performs an econometric analysis of investment motives of China s manufacturing industry enterprises new to Korea. As a result, unlike existing foreign pattern of OFDI by developed countries, location determination of China’s OFDI has little influence from the same country agglomeration variable in Korea. And the China s manufacturing firms prefer the region with high network correlation in Korean firms. Moreover, as observed in previous studies of China s OFDI, there are also high trend to select regions with high labor productivity as locations in Korea. And the objective of China s OFDI in Korea is similar to the other developing countries s OFDI.
