1940년대 박흥식의 기업가 활동과 ‘조선비행기공업(주)’

Focusing on Park Heung-sik’s entrepreneurial activities and logistics cooperation with Joson Aircraft Company during the 1940s

이 연구는 식민지기 대표적인 조선인 자본가로 활동했지만, 해방 후에는 매판자본가 제1호라는 詛呪받은 삶을 강요받았던 박흥식의 기업가 활동에 주목하였다. 검토 대상은 친일협력의 주요 논거였던 1940년대 전반 조선비행기공업(주)의 설립과 경영이다. 연구 방법은 일제가 굴지의 조선인 자본가를 비행기 공업이라는 초중점 군수생산에 동원하고 자 했던 정치적 의도와 함께 이에 따른 조선인 자본가의 대응이라는 대일협력의 쌍방향 성에 주목하였다. 그 결과, 박흥식의 기업가 활동은 명백한 군수협력이었던 것은 사실이 지만, 그렇다고 종래와 같이 친일이 아니면 반일이라는 양자택일의 논의 틀만으로는 파 악하기 곤란한 기업가 활동의 다양성과 다면성을 새롭게 해명할 수 있었다.

This study examined the entrepreneurial activities of Park Heung-sik who acquired a bad reputation as a national capitalist or Korea’s number one comprador capitalist since the national liberation even though he had been one of the reputed Korean capitalists during the colonial period. Specifically, the establishment and management of Joseon Aircraft Company, a target of comprador capital or pro-Japanese collaboration, which had been founded in the 1940s were investigated. In terms of research methodology, they were analyzed in detail by focusing on Japan’s political intention in mobilizing Joseon’s capitalist in army logistics (manufacture of aircraft, precisely) and Park Heung-sik’s response to it.
