운곡 정인영 창업회장의 한국 경제 발전 기여도

Contribution of Chairman In-Yung Chung of Halla Group to Korean Economic Development

본 연구는 한라그룹의 성장과 중공업을 통한 사업 보국을 실천한 한라그룹의 창업자 운곡 정인영 회장의 업적이 한국 경제 발전에 기여한 바를 분석하였다. 한국 경제발전 과정에서 중공업의 역할을 살펴보고, 한라그룹과 정인영 창업회장이 한국 중공업의 성 장에 어떠한 기여를 하였는지 분석하였다. 또한 한라그룹의 성장역사를 태동기 (1942-1961), 창업기(1962-1979), 성장기(1980-1989), 글로벌 도약기(1990-1996)로 구분 하고 각 시기별로 한라그룹과 정인영 창업회장이 한국경제 발전에 어떠한 공헌을 하였는지 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 한라그룹의 시기별 한국 경제 발전에 대한 기여도는 다음과 같이 특징지어 진다. 태동기는 창업자인 정인영 회장의 중공업 입국 구상기로 설명될 수 있으며, 창업기는 한 국의 종합기계공업화 달성기로 볼 수 있다. 성장기는 한국 자동차 부품 산업 전문화기, 글로벌 도약기는 한국 자동차 산업 고도화 및 플랜트 산업의 해외진출기로 특징지어질 수 있다. 한국 중공업 성장에 커다란 공헌을 한 한라그룹의 운곡 정인영 창업회장은 한국 중공 업 발전의 선구자로서 한국 기업 최초로 플랜트 산업의 토대를 구축하고 세계화하였으며, 기술자립을 주창하고 실현하였다는 점에서 한국 경제 발전에 기여한 바가 매우 크 다고 볼 수 있다.

This research analyzes the entrepreneurial accomplishment of Halla Group founder, Ungok In-Yung Chung, whom attained company growth and patriotic services through heavy industry business that contributed to the development of Korean economy. The role of heavy industry on the development of Korean economy is scrutinized along with contributive manifestation of Halla Group and the founding chairman In-Yung Chung s entrepreneurial activities on economic growth. This research specifically categorizes the Halla Group s growth period into embryonic(1942~1961), establishment (1062~1979), growth(1980~1989), global take-off(1990~1996) one delving into Chairman In-Yung Chung s contributions to the Korean economic developments in each period. Halla Group s periodic contribution in particular to the Korean economic development is characterized as follows. In embryonic period, founding Chairman In-Yung Chung concretely conceptualized the launching the heavy industry business. During establishment period Chairman Chung synthesized Korean mechanical industry. Growth period professionalized Korea auto part industry. Global take-off period sophisticated Korean automobile industry and internationalized into plant industry. The founding Chairman of Halla Group, In-Young Chung, pioneered to contribute in particular to the growth of the Korean heavy industry. Chairman Chung is the first Korean entrepreneur to establish plant industry and globalize with an emphasis on technological independence attaining the Korean economic development.
