The new great challenge Prospects of the events in the West Bank and Gaza

The Middle East witneseed the longest peace process in the history of the area .In this paper I try as a fair nonbiased scholar to write my opinion as an Arab scholar from the area to write down the developments of the events in the palestinian issue and to evalutate the situtuion and to talk about the prospects of the events in futureand the possibilty of the resolution of this compilcated issue.I will write my personal gudgements of following up the events.I will talk about the obstacles which have delayed the peace and make this loss of casualities continue.. Historically we observed that there is difference between peace and peace treaty.In Gaza and west Bank Oslo was peace treaty but never accoplished peace.Since then the Palestinians lost the Balance of power between them and Israel.This delayed the peace process .The reason that Hammas appeaered in this shape lately is she looking for this Absent balance and put pressure on Israel.This balance has never been achieved by Hamas yet .Every thing since !990 was against this Balance >this imbalance like I said increased after Oslo.Gradually the developments of events ioncreased this imbalance .PLO lost the Iraqi support and the Gulf states.She has no cards to play with to restore the rest of her rights from Israel. .The Palestinians hoped for better economic conditions but never had it and when they elected Abbass as president they hoped that will relieve their economic stress..This created the loss of enthusiam to the palestinian leaders Arafat and Abbas .Day after day they lose hope to restore Jerusalem or to be protected by international law.The 680 KM Barrier which was built by Israel was considered illegal by International court justice .Hammas appeared in this mess to decrease the Imbamalance and start to have negotiations with Israel on solid grounds.There was a rift between Hammas and PLO .This created troubles to Hammas who became isolated.In the last few days some kind of informal Euorpean ships came to Gaza strip on23 August 2008 to break the isolation and new trends of developments appeared which give impression that talks will start on solid grounds which may decrease the imbalance which will lead to peace ultimately
