We attempt a pilot estimation of green GDP by commodities in Korean agricultural sector, as a partial application of the system of integrated environmental and economic accounting (SEEA) proposed by the UN. Specifically physical emissions of pollutants associated with agricultural production activities are estimated and green GDP estimation in the agricultural sector is followed. Generally, crop cultivation in Korea is environmentally friendly except for the greenhouse effect due to the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane. On the other hand, the livestock industry, especially cattle raising is environmentally unfriendly, which is due mainly to eutrophication from livestock manure.
