This article estimates the preservation value of Manchurian black bear, a prominent endangered wildlife species, in South Korea. A dichotomous-choice contingent valuation with actual payment is used to estimate the preservation value including option. existence, and bequest values. This study also reveals some variables of explaining the preservation value. The results show that the preservation value is estimated to be U.S. $4.86 per household. Results also indicate that the variable of environmental attitudes is important in explaining willingness to pay. The findings suggest that visitors of Chirisan National Park strongly support for the preservation of endangered wildlife species.
