교과 역량 함양을 위한 교과서 단원 설계 방안 탐색

Exploration of the Direction of Unit Design for Developing Students’ Subject-specific Competencies

최근 고시된 2015 개정 교육과정에서는 학생의 역량 계발을 개정의 비전으로 설정하였고, 이는 교수･학습 및 평가에 변화를 요구한다. 우리나라에서 교과서는 교육과정의 비전과 목적을 구현하는 수단이며 교실 수업에 직접적인 영향을 행사한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 역량 교육에서 보는 학습의 의미와 역량의 특징을 고찰하여 교육과정, 교수･학습, 평가에의 함의점을 도출하고, 이를 구현하기 위한 교육과정 설계모형으로 백워드 설계의 가능성을 논의한 후 교과서 단원 설계 및 구성 방식을 제안하였다. 교과서 단원 설계는 심층 학습 및 학생 맞춤형 수업, 실생활 맥락 속에서 지식의 습득과 적용, 학생 학습의 과정을 중시하는 평가에 초점을 두었다. 전체 구성은 학생들에게 학습의 방향과 결과를 안내하는 도입부, 학습 내용의 의미를 탐색하고 적용하며 더 나아가 새로운 상황에서 배운 내용을 적용하도록 하는 수행부, 스스로 자신의 학습을 돌아보고 성찰하도록 하는 정리부로 체계화하였다.

The key competencies are embedded as the vision of the 2015 revised national curriculum and it requires changes in teaching and learning as well as assessment. Textbook is a fundamental material for teaching and learning and is supposed to embody the vision and goals of national education. Therefore, in this study, we examined the meaning of learning in the historical context of competency-based education and reviewed three characteristics of competency to look for implications for curriculum design, instruction, assessment. In addition, we examined the relationship between implications drawn from the characteristics of competency and backward design, and proposed a direction of unit design based on the backward design.
