사이존재로서 결혼이주자와 로컬의 다문화와 초국가적 공간화

Married Immigrant as a being-in-between and Multiculturalization and Transnational Spacialization of Local - Case of Married Immigrant Women’s Life History in Daegu Metropolitan City

본 연구는 1990년대 이후 한국이 다문화사회로 전환되는 과정에서 결혼이주여성이 어떠한 인식과 행동을 하였는지를 고찰였다. 상이한 문화가 접촉하는 공간에 위치한 사이존재의 개념적 틀이 제시되었고, 경험적 사례로 대구광역시에 거주하고 있는 결혼이주여성의 생애사가 활용되었다. 사이존재로서 결혼이주여성의 고찰은 결혼이주여성의 인식과 행동을 본질론, 선험론, 이원론으로 설명하는 관점을 근본적으로 비판한다. 사이존재의 개념적 틀은 결혼이주여성이 위치한 맥락, 언어·이미지 등의 매개수단을 통해 수행되는 결혼이주여성과 타인 혹은 물질 간에 관계적 상호작용을 이해하기 위해 제시되었다. 결혼이주여성의 인식과 행동을 생성과 변화의 과정으로 이해한다. 이러한 개념적 틀에 근거한 대구광역시 사례 연구는 두 가지 측면에서 논의되었다. 하나는 상이한 문화가 접촉 혹은 충돌하는 다문화가정 속에서 결혼이주여성의 저항과 타협의 가능성이며, 다른 하나는 사이존재로서 결혼이주여성의 인식과 행위를 통해 기존의 로컬이 다문화와 초국가적 공간으로 전환이다.

This study is to investigate married immigrant women’s cognition and action performed in the transforming processes of multiculturalization in a Korean society after the 1990s. To do this, a conceptual framework is based on being-in-between located in the contact or intersectional space of different cultures, and a case study has been done by the use of oral history of married immigrant women living in Daegu Metropolitan City. Married immigrant women as a being-in-between ought to be understand as a relational interaction between herself and others/things and also as a processes of becoming and change which are performed in a certain context. Based on the conceptual framework, a case of married immigrant women’s oral history in Daegu Metropolitan City has been discussed as two aspects. One is the possibility of married immigrant women’s struggle and negotiation in a multicultural home in which contacts or conflicts between different cultures are occurred. The other is the transformation of multicultural and transnational space of existing local by the cognition and activity of married immigrant women as a being-in-between.
