道徳科学(モラロジー)思想の実践と最高道徳に関する一考察

A Study on the Practice of Moralogy and the Ultimate Moral

今日、韓国日本を問わず、道徳教育が注目される中、日本の道徳科学(モラロジー)思想の創始者である広池千九郎博士は、1928年『新科学としてのモラロヂーを確立する為の最初の試みとしての道徳科学の論文』を発表した。モラロジーという新しい思想体系は既存のいわゆるモラル․サイエンス(Moral Science)とは異なり、いくつかの根本的な点においては広池の独得の問題意識と学問観とが込められている。いわゆる道徳科学(モラロジー)という新しい学問の名称と内容が、必ずしも現在一般的に学会や社会にあまねく知られているとは言えないかも知れないが、本稿は、筆者のこれまでの研究の成果を踏まえつつ、モラロジーとはいかなる思想であり、どのような内容と目的を持っているのかを更に考察するために、主に広池の著書から関連内容を引用しつつ、氏のモラロジーにおける実践とその中心的理念である最高道徳の心的․行為的側面について考察したものである。日本では、二〇一八年度からは全国の小学校、また次の年度からは全国の中学校で｢道徳｣が教科化され、道徳教育がスタートするのである。これを機にモラロジー思想の創立者である広池千九郎の志に改めて思いを致し、我々は生きがいと喜びに満ちた人生、明るく温かな家庭、そしてよりよい社会を実現していくため、ますますの努力をして行かなければと思うのである。

In recent years, the moral education has seen the surge of interest in both Korea and Japan. Dr. ChikuroHiroike, a founder of Japan’s Moralogy, published “An Article of the Science of Moral as an Initial Attempt to Establish Moralogy as a New Science” in 1928. The new academic system of Moralogy differs from the preexisting “Moral Science,” and it reflects Hiroike’s unique awareness of issues as well as his perspective of scholarship in some fundamental respects. The term Moralogy and its contents may not be widely known at the present state of academic and social societies. In this article, building upon my previous research on Moralogy, I explicate the thoughts of Moralogy as well as its contents and aims. For this purpose, I discuss Hiroike’s writings, exploring his practice of Moralogy and mental and behavioral aspects of the ultimate moral, a central idea of Moralogy. In Japan, “Doutoku” (moral) will become a course of study in all elementary schools in 2018 and it will become a course of study in all junior high schools in the subsequent year. I take this opportunity to reflect on thoughts of ChikuroHiroike, a founder of Moralogy, and to make more efforts to realize lives full of significance and happiness, cheerful and warm homes, and better societies.
