A historical study on the transition processes of Russian foreign exchange system

Russian foreign exchange system become our great interest after entering of Russian economy into the world market. Because of the open-door policy under the socialistic planned economy, the transformation of economic system and the moratorium, Russian foreign exchange system could be divided into five period. Before Perestroika under the closed socialistic planned economy Russia had the fixed exchange system mainly, but after Perestroika under the open-door socialistic planned economy had the foreign exchange system with the various conversion coefficients under the government s control. After the transformation of the economic system from the socialistic planned economy to the capitalistic market system, this system changed to the single floating exchange system without the government s control. Russia tries to enter the world capitalistic market system positively with the new floating exchange rate system after the moratorium.
