웹 개발 업체의 프로세스 개선이 지식근로자 생산성 및 전략적 성과에 미치는 영향

Impacts of Process Re-engineering in Web Development Companies on Knowledge Worker’s Productivity and Strategic Performance

급변하는 비즈니스 환경에 적응하고 생존하기 위해서 수많은 기업들은 업무 및 조직프로세스를 개선하여 경영혁신을 달성하고, 경쟁자들이 모방할 수 없는 독창적 지식을 창출하여 공유하며 이를 체계적으로 관리해 자산화하려는 노력을 끊임없이 기울이고 있다. 하지만, 그러한 노력에도 불구하고 현실적으로 경영혁신으로 인해 큰 효과를 얻는 기업은 그리 많지 않으며, 경제성장의 주도적 역할을 했던 IT산업은 오히려 생산성 저하 현상이 일어나고 있다. 이러한 현상은 IT 각 분야의 프로세스 개선과 이에 대한 성과와 관련된 연구의 필요성이 급증하고 있음을 역설한다. 본 연구는 IT산업의 대표기업 중 하나라 할 수 있는 웹 개발 업체를 대상으로 각 업체에서 이루어지고 있는 프로세스 개선이 웹 개발 업체에서 종사하고 있는 지식근로자의 생산성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 프로세스 개선을 통해 실제적으로 개선성과가 나타나고 있는지, 그리고 지식근로자 생산성과 프로세스 개선성과 사이의 상관관계를 조사하는데 목적을 둔다. 즉, 프로세스 개선 여부를 기준으로 두 개의 그룹으로 구분한 연구모형과 가설을 설정한 후 국내 웹 개발 업체들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구결과는 프로세스 개선(Web Development Team)이 지식근로자의 업무몰입과 지식활동 등 지식근로자의 생산성과 및 조직 개선성과에 유의할 수 있음을 보여준다. 더불어, 연구를 통해 지식근로자의 생산성이 높은 업체일수록 프로세스 개선성과가 높은 개연성을 암시하고 있다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 웹 개발 업체에서의 조직성과 향상은 지식근로자의 생산성 향상에 초점을 맞추어야 하며 이는 곧 지속적인 프로세스 개선을 통해서 달성할 수 있음을 시사한다.

Recently, enterprises are endeavoring to achieve management innovation through the process reengineering for its operations and organizations. In spite of the tremendous efforts, many IT companies are confronted with the dilemma that they have still had difficulties in enhancing the management innovation level, such as productivity of knowledge workers. The purpose of the study is to investigate the impacts of process reengineering in web development companies on knowledge worker’s productivity and strategic performances. For this research, questionnaire survey was conducted with literature study and statistical methods such as significant tests and Pearson R were used to analyze the research model and to test hypotheses. The results indicate that the process reengineering of web development projects may improve the knowledge worker’s productivity, and that higher knowledge productivity may lead to higher strategic performances. The study recommends that web development companies should focus on various processreengineering, which can result in the improvement of the productivity and strategic performance.
