This study attempted to investigate changes in the awareness and behavior of scalp care and hair loss management according to gender academic major and school year according to determinants among college students in Gwangju and Jeonnam. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted on college students from four-year colleges in Gwangju and Jeonnam from September 25 to October 10, 2016. A total of 343 copies were collected and used for analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. For this, factor analysis, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach s alpha test, cross tabulation analysis, t-test and F-test were conducted. As a post-hoc test, Duncan’s test was performed. The study results found the following: First, in terms of the awareness of scalp care & hair loss management by gender, a statistically significant difference was observed in the following: need for scalp care, cosmetological treatment for hairstyling, daily life habits, recovery at scalp care clinics, factors having a negative influence on the scalp, and plans through which scalp care doctors and scalp care could be further facilitated (*p<.05, **p<.01, ***p<.001). Second, scalp & hair care behavior was classified into interest in scalp & hair care, scalp & hair care behavior and dietary habits. A statistically significant difference was found by gender and academic major (***p<.001). However, no difference was observed by school year. Third, in terms of scalp & hair loss management determinants, a statistically significant difference was found by gender and academic major (***p<.001) while no difference was observed by school year.
