日本語の『よ(yo)』と韓国語の「지(ji)」に関する対照研究

Contrastive Study of Japanese {-よ} and Korean {-지}

  • 23

Structure of Korean and Japanese sentences are alike in grammar. Korean {-ji} and Japanese {-yo} appear in the sentence final ending, and it express the attitude of speaker against a listener. This {-ji} and {-yo}have a similar function ,but on the other hand, there is also difference. For the Korean student who learns Japanese, it is very important to understand this points of similar and different function. Because listener can understand a speaker s attitude correctly, so listener understands what speaker wants to say. Moreover, also when a student speaks, unless he understands this difference, a meaning is not transmitted correctly. The purpose of this paper is to provide useful information to the Korean student who learns Japanese. The similarities have a meanig of will in the predicative sentences, and the Korean {-ji} and Japanese {-yo} are correspondent each other. The differences are not used in the expressive sentences of Korean {-ji}, but Jananese {-yo} is used in those of Japanese. This is the best typical usage in Japanese. If Japanese {-yo} in used in the final ending of a sentences, it will become a maker of utterance to the listener. Korean {-ji} presupposes the agreement of information and Japanese {-yo} the difference of information. Because their basic functions differ, they show the relation of correspondence with the same meanig in each context, and sometimes they don t show it in the different meanig. Such correspondences and the meaning of certain contexts were suggested on this study.
