성인발달장애인 어머니의 돌봄스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인

A Study on the factors affecting in care stress of mothers of adult with developmental disabilities

본 연구는 성인발달장애인을 돌보는 어머니의 돌봄스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고 그에 따른 정책적 측면과 실천적 측면의 개입 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 현재 성인발달장애인 자녀를 돌보고 있는 어머니 178명을 대상으로 하였으며, 위계적 중다회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 가족변인과 관련해서 가족갈등이 높을수록 돌봄스트레스도 높고 반면에 가족강점이 높으면 돌봄스트레스는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회서비스변인과 관련해서 활동지원서비스 이용경험이 있을수록 돌봄스트레스가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 어머니와 관련된 변인에서는 어머니의 건강이 좋지 않을수록, 보조돌봄자가 없을수록 돌봄스트레스도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 기반으로 성인발달장애인 어머니의 돌봄스트레스를 완화시켜주기 위한 정책적 및 실천적 차원에서 사회복지 개입 방안들을 제안하였다.

The purpose of the study is to find factors affecting in care stress of mothers of adult with developmental disabilities in South Korea. The research data was gathered by collecting from services users recruited from forty-five disability organizations, special schools and centers in South Korea. The survey was limited to mothers who take care of their adult son and daughters with developmental disabilities over age 18. The samples of the study consisted of 178 mothers. The data were analysed using SPSS program. Frequency, t-test, anova and step wise regression were used. The findings of the study are as follows. The factors affecting in care stress of mothers were family conflict, family strength, the health status of mother and if there are any care giver who assist mother’care. On the basis of these results, this study provided the some strategies for social policy and social work practice for government and community welfare centers.
