호주이주 한인 중년층의 가족지지가 문화적응에 미치는 영향 :

Study on the Family Support and Acculturation of the middle-aged Korean immigrant in Australia :

본 연구는 호주 이민 한인 중년층을 대상으로 사회적 관계망 가운데 개인에게 가장 많은 영향을 미치고 있는 가족지지와 문화적응과의 관계를 파악하고 이들 두 변수를 매개할 것으로 보이는 자존감과 우울을 연구하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 호주의 시드니에 거주하고 있는 한인 중년층 233명을 대상으로 하였다. 통계방법은 SPSS ver.18.0을 사용하여 기술통계, 상관관계분석, 신뢰도분석을 하였고, 본 연구가 제안한 연구모형의 가설을 구조방정식으로 검증하기 위하여 AMOS ver.7.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 가족지지는 자존감과 우울에 영향을 미쳤으며 자존감은 우울에 영향을 미쳤고 자존감과 우울은 문화적응에 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 가족지지는 문화적응에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 가족지지는 자존 감과 우울을 매개로 하여 문화적응에 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 호주에 거주하고 있는 한인 중년층의 문화적응 변인에 대한 정보를 제공함과 동시에 호주뿐만 아니라 해외 이민자들의 문화적응을 위한 해외이민자 정책과 해외이주 동포의 복지관련 프로그램을 지원함에 있어서 기초자료로 제공될 것이다. 이와 함께 문화적응에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인에 대한 탐색적 연구를 시도함으로써 한국의 다문화정책에도 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

This study intends to grasp the relation of family support and acculturation which mostly influence individual out of the social relation network for middle-aged Korean immigrants in Australia and to investigate dignity and depression which are deemed to mediate these 2 variables. For this study, 233 middle-aged Korean immigrants living in Sidney Australia were employed as object. For statistical method, SPSS ver.18.0 was used to analyze technical statistics and correlation and AMOS ver.7.0 program was used to verify with structural equation the hypothesis of study model suggested by this study. The result of analysis is as follows. Family support influences dignity and melancholy, dignity influences melancholy and dignity & melancholy influences acculturation. However, family support does not directly influences acculturation. Second, family support influences acculturation through the mediation of dignity and melancholy. Through this result, the information on acculturation variable of middle-aged Koreans living in Australia was provided and substantive materials which can be recognized as policy task of overseas immigrants for acculturation of overseas immigrants in addition to Australia and basic materials were provided so that program reflecting this variable can be delivered in supporting welfare-related program for compatriots moving overseas. Further, the suggestion meaningful in the multi-cultural policy of Korea will be provided by trying searching study over relevant variables which influence acculturation.
