고등학생의 우울, 휴대전화 의존, 학교생활 적응 간의 비재귀적ㆍ순환적 관계의 검증

Testing the Nonrecursive/Circulative Relationship among Highschool Students’ Depression, Mobile Phone Dependency and School Adjustment

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생이 지각하는 우울, 휴대전화 의존, 학교생활 적응 사이에 비재귀적ㆍ순환적 관계가 존재하는지 검증하고 아울러 관련 문제의 예방 및 완화를 위한 개입 방안의 마련에 참고할 수 있는 기초자료를 획득하는 데 있다. 이론적 검토와 선행연구 고찰을 통해 우울, 휴대전화 의존, 학교생활 적응 사이의 비재귀적ㆍ순환적 관계를 설명하는 연구모형을 구축 하였으며, 한국청소년정책연구원의 ‘한국아동ㆍ청소년패널조사 2010’의 중1패널 제4차년도 자료를 사용하여 구조방정식모형 분석 등을 통해 연구모형의 적합도와 연구가설의 유의성을 통계적으로 검증하였다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학생의 우울 수준이 높을수록 휴대전화 의존이 더 심각하다. 둘째, 고등학생의 휴대전화 의존이 심각할수록 학교생활 적응이 더 낮다. 셋째, 고등학생의 학교생활 적응이 낮을수록 우울이 더 심하다. 넷째, 고등학생이 지각하는 우울, 휴대전화 의존, 학교생활 적응 간에는 비재귀적ㆍ순환적 관계가 존재한다. 끝으로, 관련 문제의 개선 및 해결을 위해서는 순환적 영향 관계의 특성상 순환적 연결고리들 가운데 어느 한 지점에서든지 효과적인 개입이 가능하다는 점을 논의하였다.

The purpose of the study is to test the nonrecursive/circulative relationship among high school students’ depression, mobile phone dependency, and school adjustment and to draw out theoretical and practical implications in terms of preventing and alleviating the related problems. According to the results of literature review, a proposed structural equation model concerning the aforementioned variables has been identified. This study analyzed the fourth data from Korean Children and Youth Panel Study 2010 (KCYPS 2010). The results of the study are as follows. First, depression could have a significant positive effect on mobile phone dependency. Second, mobile phone dependency could have a significant negative effect on school adjustment. Third, school adjustment could have a significant negative effect on depression. Fourth, there could be a nonrecursive and circulative relationship among depression, mobile phone dependency, and school adjustment. Finally, it is concluded that practical interventions could be focused on any point in the circulative relationship between the aforementioned three variables.
