In order to formulate the fostering plans and new way of living, the actual conditions of the laver utilization in Korea and quality appreciation of Japanese laver products were investigated. The existing states of raw laver for processing in Korea were the average amount of catches 187,629 M/T, which were occupied 74~77% of Jeonnam province,7~10% of Jeonbuk and Chungnam province, 4~8% of Busan and Gyeongnam province, and 1~2% of Incheon and Gueonggi province. The propensity to consume of dried laver was occupied 68.3% of the demestic needs, 27.2% of the processing needs, 4.5% of the saving for emergency and 0.1% of exportation. Eight kinds of Japanese laver products were accumulated at Tokyo, Kyoto and Kumamoto area and estimated their quality.
