비표준근무를 하는 항공사 기혼 여성 승무원의 양육경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

Narrative inquiry on experience of rearing children by married female flight attendants under nonstandard work schedule

본 연구의 목적은 비표준근무를 하는 항공사 기혼 여성 승무원들의 양육경험을 탐구하는 것이다. 연구의 목적 달성을 위해 현직 항공사 기혼 여성 승무원 3명을 연구참여자로 선정했으며, 면담과 관찰을 통해 자료를 수집했다. 수집된 자료는 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)가 제안한 삼차원 은유공간(시간의 연속성, 상호작용, 상황)을 고려하면서 분석했으며 공통적 으로 드러난 내용들을 새로운 주제어로 통합하여 재구성하였다. 도출된 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 연구참여자들의 양육경험 이야기에서 공통된주제를 추출한 결과, ‘불안한 삶 속의 패턴 감지’, ‘가족애를 기반한 가족의 존재감’, ‘승무원엄마의 오랜 기간 빈자리를 대신할 양육전략’, ‘승무원 엄마의 정책적 바람’으로 재구성 하였다. 마지막으로 경험의 본질을 탐구한 결과 세 명의 승무원에게 있어서 양육경험은 ‘비표준근무를 하는 아이엄마로 자리 잡기’로 정리할 수 있었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 비표준근무를 하는 항공사 승무원 및 가족 지원을 위하여 가족 및 사회적 지지체계 구축 방안, 일･양육 지원 제도 개선 등 가족학 차원에서의 실천적 대안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to inquire the experience in rearing children of married female flight attendants following nonstandard work schedule. To accomplish the purpose of this research, 3 in-service married female flight attendants were participated as research collaborators, and the research materials were collected through interview and observation. These materials were analyzed considering Three-Dimensional Metaphor Space(relation, continuity, place) suggested by Clandinin & Connelly(2000), and reorganized integrating commonly featured contents into new keywords. The findings of this research derived from the common topics of participants’ interviews in their experience of rearing children which are consisting of four parts as follows : ①‘Awareness of patterns in an uneasy life’, ②‘Existence of family based on the family love’, ③‘Rearing strategies to replace long-term vacancy of the flight attendant’, and ④‘Policy wishes of a mom who is a working flight attendant’ As a result, the experience of rearing children for 3 flight attendants under special terms can be summarized as ‘The process of positioning as child’s mother who are doing nonstandard work schedule’. Based on findings of this research, I suggested practical alternatives- building plan of support system for flight attendants under nonstandard work schedule and their families, improvement plan of working and rearing balance support system, etc- by the viewpoint of family science.
