Object:We studied the predictive validity of HIRIGADUST(The Screening Test for High Risk Group of Adolescent Drug Users) for substance use over a two-month period, with third grade middle school students who are in winter vacation. Method:We administered HIRIGADUST to 232 third grade middle school students two times, one is before & the other is after winter vacation. After dividing these adolescents into high risk and low risk group on each subscale by using T score 60 as a cut-off point, we compared the differences of the existence of alcohol-drinking, smoking and drug-abusing experience between high risk-group and low-risk group. And then, we determined whether the each subscale of HIRIGADUST has or not significant predictive validity. Results:It was considered that the subscale concerning personality·value system has significant (p<.05) predictive validity for future alcohol use over a two-month period. As for bond inhalation, subscale concerning peer relationship·school performance and psychological problems·health concerns, have significant (p<.05) predictive validity over a period of two-month.
