This study is to examine the decorative features of the nail art works of ‘Nailpia’, which is one of the leading domestic nail beauty magazines which has a long history and trends, and ‘Nailmax’, a representative magazine of Japan. The purpose of this study is to compare the characteristics of nail design in Korea and Japan by seasons and to analyze the trends of nail design in relation to each season. As a research method, 46 works of ‘Nailpia’ and 46 works of ‘Nailmax’ were analyzed with the photographs of the final 92 works. During the study period, the data analysis period was based on four seasons in the last two years. At this time, it is revealed that the photo analysis was extracted twice by three doctoral degree major. The results of the study are as follows. First, this is the feature of the decoration that appeared in Korea ‘Nailpia’ and Japanese ‘Nailmax’ nail design. Korea had the Highest percentage of jewelery decorations in all seasons 63%, and Japan also had the highest percentage of 50%. In addition, the decoration of textiles was not common in both Korea and Japanese works. In korea, decoration using acrylic or gel was used in the decoration of other kinds. In Japan, there were many cases in which decorations did not appear comparatively, 40% of the works were not decorated. Second, as a result of analyzing the relation and change trend of nail decoration between Korea and Japan, Korea has been steadily increasing from the beginning of the 15 S/S season to the most widely used jewelery in both countries, while other materials showed the same pattern of trends in both countries starting from the 15 S/S season.
