A Study on the Effects of Chiropractic Cervical Spine Manipulation on the Heterophoria Values of Visual Function

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of chiropractic spinal manipulation on improving heterophoria causing various symptoms, such as headache, asthenopia, blurred vision and diplopia. There were 85 participants which were divided into an experimental group that served as upper cervical manipulation( n=37), the control group A that served as the pseudo-treatment group(n=22) and the control group B that served as soft tissue release technique on suboccipital muscle group(n=26). After experimentation, there was no significant difference on the control group A after false treatment(p>0.05), there was significant difference on control group B after Suboccipital release technique(p<0.05) and also, there was significant difference on experimental group after chiropractic spinal manipulation( p<0.05). In conclusion, this study shows that chiropractic spinal manipulation and suboccipital releasing technique are effective on improving heterophoria by directly decreasing heterophoria values therefore helping the patients.
