The Study of NiYuanLu’ calligraphy Art

倪元璐(1593~1644)는 명대 말기 문인이자, 三傑로 이름을 날렸던 서예가이다. 1644년에 이자성(李自成)의 난으로 명나라가 무너지자 스스로 목매어 자살하였는 데, 이후 그의 인격과 도덕정신은 더욱 부각되었다. 그는 동기창파 서풍이 성행하던 명대말기에 예술적 특색을 지닌 독특한 서예를 시도했던 서예가였다. 예원로는 사회적 혼란과 부패가 만연해 있던 시대 상황에서 서예를 통해 자신의 답답한 심정을 풀어내었고 그러한 과정에서 서예야말로 ‘기를 고요하게 하고 뜻을 한곳에 집중하여(靜氣專志)’ 구해야 하는 진지한 예술임을 인지하였다. 그는 서예작품은 ‘遒媚’함에 ‘渾深’을 더해지는 풍격을 갖추어야 한다고 하였다. 기세가 충만하고 강력한 힘이 있는 느낌과 부드러우면서도 아름다운 생명력이 감도는 기운, 이 두가지가 혼융된 가운데, 다시 여러 가지 미가 복합적으로 융합되면서 도(渾) 거기에 속되지 않은 어떤 미적 깊이(深)가 있는 작품을 추구해야 한다고 보았다. 예원로가 이와 같은 서예풍격을 형성할 수 있었던 것은 그가 이전의 많은 서예가 들의 서예예술을 끊임없이 학습하면서 취할 것은 취하고 버릴 것은 버리는 과정을 반복했기 때문이다. 그럼으로써 그는 새로운 이치와 특이한 심미적 형태가 있는 창신의 경지를 이루어 내었다. 그러한 그의 서예예술은 그의 충절, 절개와 더불어 후대인들에 의해 높이 평가되었다.

NiYuanLu is a calligrapher who was a literature and 0ne of three famous characters in the late Ming Dynasty. In 1644, when the Ming Dynasty collapsed, he hanged himself , and his character and moral spirit became more prominent. He was a calligrapher who attempted to paint a unique calligraphy character with an artistic character at the end of the Ming Dynasty ,when Dong Qi Chang calligraphy was widespread. In the era of social chaos and corruption, NiYuanLu calmed down his frustration through calligraphy, and recognized that calligraphy was a serious art needed to be kept quiet and focused on one place. He felt that the calligraphy works were filled with vivid, powerful, charismatic vitality, and filled with beautiful emotion. The combination of the two virtues should be well mixed and should have aesthetic depth. The reason why NiYuanLu was able to form such a calligraphic style was that he repeated the process of adopting and dropping the calligraphy styles of many calligraphers by continuously learning calligraphy. By doing so, he achieved the field of creativity with a new sense of realism and peculiar aesthetic form. His calligraphy was highly appreciated by future generations.
