몸의 사회학적 관점에서 본 장애인의 몸에 관한 탐색적 고찰

A study on body of the disabled in sociological perspectives of body

본 연구는 몸의 사회학적 관점을 통해 장애인의 몸을 탐색적으로 고찰하고 이를 토대로 한국장애인복지에의 함의를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 몸의 사회학적 관점은 우리의 몸이 생물학적 현상이면서 동시에 권력과 자본으로서 역할을 하는 사회적 현상임을 동시에 강조한다. 이러한 몸의 사회학적 관점을 토대로 장애인의 몸을 살펴본 결과, 기본적으로 노동하는 몸과 소비하는 몸의 입장에서 장애인의 몸은 철저하게 배제되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 고도기술시대의 몸, 즉 포스트바디의 관점에서 장애인의 몸은 첨단 기술의 대상으로서 소비되고, 이로 인해 노동가능성이 높아지며, 궁극적으로는 새로운 인간주체에 관한 논의에서 중심적 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 몸의 사회학적 관점이 한국장애인 복지에 갖는 함의를 제시하였다.

This study aims to examine body of people with disabilities in terms of sociological perspectives of body. Sociological perspectives of body emphasize the body is not only biological phenomenon but also social phenomenon playing a role as power and capital. Results may be summarized as follows. Basically, body of disabled people is excluded from labor and consumption. However from perspectives of post-body, body of disabled people is consumed as subjects of state-of-the-art technology and by dosing so, possibility of labor of the disabled appear to be higher. Ultimately, body of people with disabilities play a leading role in discourse on brand-new human subject in terms of perspectives of post-body. Based on the results so far, I present implication of sociological perspectives of body for the Korean disability policy.
