A Study on Applying Performance Assessment to Vocation in Basic Curriculum for Special Schools

The purpose of this study was to examine the procedure (ease of constructing assessment sheet, efficiency of scoring assessment sheet, content validity) and result (inter-rater reliability, ease of utilization, quality of feedback) of applying performance assessment to vocation in basic curriculum for special schools. To do this, performance assessment in vocation was conducted for 4 students attending a special school for mental retardation C province. After this, two teachers filled out a form which was developed to analyze the procedure and result of the performance assessment. Based on the completed form, it was concluded that the performance assessment in vocation in basic curriculum for special schools was not high in the degree of ease of constructing assessment sheet but high in the degree of efficiency of scoring assessment sheet, content validity, inter-rated reliability, ease of utilization, and quality of feedback. The conclusions were discussed in relation to previous research and several suggestions for future research were presented.
