The purpose of this research is to suggest the practical directions for the education for student teachers by analyzing the difficulties that student teachers enrolled in the department of early childhood education during the process of instrumental music class. Data were collected by interviews and survey with 9 first-graders enrolled in the department of early childhood education of a college in G-city. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, it is revealed that student teachers were having psychological․physical difficulties in instrumental music class due to the lack in practice time. Secondly, they were having difficulties in using constant course contents and textbooks, and in inefficient course method along with the same course speed. Thirdly, they were having difficulties with short time of training and learning theory, and with poor environment for practising. Therefore, for the proper education of preschool instrumental music, it is needed an effort to provide an environment within which students are able to enjoy the instrumental music course, diverse course contents, easy-to-utilize textbooks, efficient course method, enough number of courses, theory-based course, and improved educational environment.
