This study aimed to examine the Characteristics of emotional and behavioral problems(type and degree) according to the number of siblings in adolescents. To do this, 911 students, who were attending at junior high schools in Gwangju were selected through two-stage cluster random sampling and were asked to complete a questionnaire. Out of 911 returned questionnaires, 806 questionnaires were used for data analyses. To assess the emotional and behavioral problems, it uses Korean Youth Self-Report(K-YSR; Oh, Lee, Hong, & Hah, 2001) developed by Achenbach(1991), and standardized by Oh, Lee, Hong, & Hah. To identify the type and degree of emotional and behavioral problems, the data were analyzed by using chi-square tests, one-way anova. Through the results above, this study showed that there is a significant difference in the emotional and behavioral problems(type and degree) according to the number of siblings in female adolescents. Finally, the results were discussed and several suggestions were presented for future related research.
