방한 해외 의료관광객의 지각위험과 기대에 관한 실증연구

A Empirical Study on the Perceived Risks and Expectation of Medical Tourists Visit to Korea

본 연구에서는 해외 의료관광객들이 한국을 의료관광지로 선택할 때 고려하는 선택요인, 그리고 그들의 인지위험과 기대를 파악하고, 한국의 의료관광 활성화를 위해 해외의료관광객들에게 필요한 사항들이 무엇인가를 파악하려는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위하여 한국의 의료기관에 방문한 해외 의료관광객들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 설문조사 결과는 빈도분석, 구성비, 가중평균값 등을 도출하여 해외 의료관광객들이 한국을 의료관광지로 선택하는 선택요인, 그들이 인지하고 있는 위험과 기대, 그리고 추가 희망사항 등을 파악하였다. 이러한 분석결과, 해외 의료관광객들이 한국을 의료관광지로 선택하는 요인으로는 한국의 의료기관과 의료진의 높은 수준으로 파악되었다. 해외 의료관광객들이 가장 우려하고 있는 위험요인으로는 의료품질과 비용이었으며, 가장 기대하고 있는 요인으로는 본국에서는 받을 수 없는 믿을만한 의료 서비스와 의료 환경으로 파악되었다. 마지막으로 해외 의료관광객들이 한국의 의료관광 활성화를 위해 추가로 희망하는 요인으로는 직항 비행노선, 편리한 입출국 수속 및 다양한 쇼핑기회 등으로 조사되었다.

Purpose : This paper attempts to know the reasons why international patients visit to Korea for medical tourism, what they expect and worry about during their stay in Korea. In addition, their thoughts about additional services they may be necessary to boost medical tourism in Korea were gathered. Research design, data, methodology : To investigate these factors, a field survey was performed in Korean medical institutes. Frequency, percentage and means are calculated by SPSS statistics 23 in order to analysis survey results. Results : The results revealed that the reasons why they visit to Korea are excellent skills of medical staff, competitiveness of medical service and convenience of making the trip to Korea. Conclusions : Their perceived risks are medical service and cost. On the other hand, their perceived expectations are the reliable environment of Korean medical institute, high level of medical service, and other medical services which may not be available in their own countries. Finally, additional services they desire include factors that make for a convenience trip such as direct flight service, convenience of custom clearance and immigration procedures, and various shopping opportunities.
