Condensation has been taken as an effective strategy in interpreting and a special strategy used by experienced professional interpreters. When reviewing theoretical research regarding it, it is easy to notice that research about this interpreting strategy is still problematic, which impacts further development in interpreting research and practical usage. This study mainly uses the theoretical research method, and tries to define condensation in a new way and classify it into three interpreting tactics-simplification, substitution and omission.
