고려후기 의학지식의 계보 - 비예백요방과 삼화자향약방의 선후관계 재론 -

The genealogy of medical knowledge during the late Goryeo(高麗) Dynasty - The case of the Biyebaengnyobang(備預百要方) and the Samhwajahyangyakbang(三和子鄕藥方)

이 글에서는 고려시대 의학지식의 흐름을 이해하기 위해 비예백요방과 삼화자향약방에 대해 살펴보았다. 특히 그동안 논란이 되었던  비예백요방과 삼화자향약방의 선후관계를 집중적으로 다루었다. 의서의 선후관계에 대한 확정은 향후 질병사 연구의 토대가 되기 때문이다. 중국의 원처방을 찾아서 비예백요방과 삼 화자향약방의 인용문을 비교 검토한 결과, 삼 화자향약방이 먼저 만들어지고 비예백요방 은 이를 계승했음이 밝혀졌다. 한편 향약구급방과 삼화자향약방 사이 에는 직접적인 인용이 드물어서, 두 의서는 별개의 계열이라고 평가할 수 있다. 의서에 나타난 의학지식의 전승 경위를 유형화시켜보면, 비예 백요방에서는 전혀 다른 계열의 의서인 향약 구급방과 삼화자향약방이 통합되고 있었다. 여기에 비예백요방 편찬시에는 중국 의서의 처방들이 추가되었다. 요컨대 고려시대에 의서들은 지속적으로 계승 통합되는 한편 새로운 외래 지식도 수용함으 로써 의학지식을 발전시켜 나갔다.

I discussed the order between the Biyebaengnyobang( 備預百要方) and the Samhwajahyangyakbang( 三和子鄕藥方) in order to understand the history of Goryeo medical knowledge. The Biyebaengnyobang was proved to be the Goryeo medical book recently, so the confirming on the chronological relationships of two books will build a foundation for the disease history research. The Samhwajahyangyakbang was made first, Biyebaengnyobang turned out to have succeeded the Samhwajahyangyakbang. On the other hand, the cited relationship between the Samhwajahyangyakbang and the Hyangyakgugeupbang( 鄕藥救急方) was very rare, it can be evaluated as a separate series. It meant that the Biyebaengnyobang had integrated the Hyangyakgugeupbang and the Samhwajahyangyakbang which were completely different series of medical books. In addition, during the editing of the Biyebaengnyobang, the prescriptions of the Chinese medical books had been added. In short, medical knowledge of the Goryeo had been developed out by taking new foreign knowledge while the Goryeo medical books had been handed down to each other.
