Firm history is the document of a firm’s development, which can be the important historical materials of business and economic history. This research aims at the revel-up of Korean firm history publications and searching for a Korean business model. Firm history appeared in western world at the first time in the end of the nineteenth century. It was because the prosperity of firms after the Industrial Revolution led to increasing concerns of the business. But, the studies of firm histories has been activated since 1920’s. The advent of big business was the beginning of the business history publishing in America and Japan. The publication of firm history has two path. One is published by journalists or novelists for sales and the other by firm’s own for advertizing itself. The latter has become the major part of the publication. Afterwards, firm has invested to make a luxurious and big sized publication by the famous authors, that is, the writers, business historians or economic historians were involved in firm history makings. It is supposed that these tendency has made an effect on studies in Europe and Russia.
