This study is a case analysis with an economic historical perspective. And the purpose of this paper is to inquire into the process and actual conditions of labor control and management to the Koreans of Japanese coal mines(1939-1945). And on the basis of this research, I aim at investigating the realities of labor control and management to the Koreans in the period of Japanese colonial rule. During the World War Ⅱ period of 1939-1945, Forced Conscription of Koreans took place. Most of the Koreans were transferred to mines, particularly coal mines, which were in the greatest need of laborers. But their working conditions continued to worsen. Treatment by supervisors was unusually strict and crudely managed. Supervisors were often chosen from among former policeman or soldiers and terror, including lynching to the workers. They worked unsanitary and dangerous working conditions. Prejudice and discrimination against Koreans prevailed among the Japanese. Under these conditions workers often ran away. creating a very serious problem for the Japanese government. Labor disputes often resulted from grievances resulting from practices, Thus strikes occurred more readily and tended to be more militant. And some laborers were adapting the labor control and rule. Therefore, it is essential that we study and solve the problem of the wartime reparation movement; compensation and responsibility of World War Ⅱ made to work as slave laborers for Japanese industries.
