Since the global financial crisis, developed countries such as the United States and Japan have been implementing reshoring to increase domestic jobs through manufacturing revival moves. As a result of such policy support, companies in the U.S. with overseas presence such as GE, Ford, Otis Elevator, Apple, Whirlpool, Caterpillar and Lenovo have returned to their home countries. In Japan, large Japanese companies such as Honda, Panasonic and Sharp have moved overseas production bases to their own countries. In this study, the manufacturing reshoring model of major countries delved specifically on high-tech manufacturing and labor-intensive manufacturing. It is required to overcome the limit of labor-intensive production through mechanization, automation, informatization and artificial intelligence as in the case of developed countries such as the U.S.A., Japan and Germany and secure global competitiveness. In order to effect the return of foreign companies into the domestic market, support policies of major countries must be improved together with labor productivity and product competitiveness through novel production methods and R&D.
