The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of depth and breadth of foreign experience on financial and non-financial export performance of 206 SMEs in Gwangju and Jeonnam SMEs in South Korea. More specifically, firm international experience is divided into depth and breadth, and the effects of each type of overseas experience on export performance are distinguished in terms of the financial and non-financial aspects. Results show that depth of international experience of SMEs has a positive relationship with export performance in terms of the both the financial and non-financial aspects. On the other hand, the breadth of international experience has a significant negative relationship with their export performance relative to the financial aspect, but it has a positive effect on non-financial export performance.
