약물남용 청소년의 가족적 접근을 위한 초기 개입기법 고찰

A study on the intervention to the family with the drug abused adolescents

최근들어 심각한 사회문제가 되고 있는 청소년 약물남용은 가족과 밀접한 연관성을 가진다. 기존의 문헌들을 보면, 약물남용 청소년의 가족은 약물남용이라는 문제를 발전시키고, 유지하는데 있어서 중요한 기능을 하며, 따라서 회복시에 가족의 도움이 필수적인 것을 알 수 있다. 그러나, 약물남용 청소년에 대한 가족접근이 필요함에도 불구하고, 청소년자신뿐 아니라 그 가족도 치료에 저항적이기 때문에, 가족을 치료에 참여시키는 것조차 어려운 것이 현실이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 문헌고찰을 통해, 약물남용 청소년의 가족역동을 알아보고, 가족을 치료에 참여시키기 위한 초기 개입 기법들을 고찰해 봄으로써, 청소년 약물남용 문제에 대한 가족적 접근을 위한 임상적 기초를 제공하고자 한다.

The major focus of this article is to explore the early intervention techniques to the family with the drug abused adolescents. In order to do so, the author reviews the dynamics of the family with the drug abused adolescents, to explore the engagement techniques, and to discuss on the applicability to Korean therapeutic situation. The useful engagement techniques are described as follows; 1. Contact with the family as soon as possible. 2. Anticipate and directly deal with the resistance of the family. 3. Emphasize the necessity of the family therapy. 4. Don’t blame the family. 5. Tailor the goals to the family. 6. Recognize the therapist’s force. 7. The administrative support is needed. For the successful engagement to the family, practitioner, who meets the abusive adolescents for the first time in an agency, is recommended to play a family therapist role at the same time. Instead of the traditional and intensive family therapy, multiple family therapy modality seems to be useful in dealing with the family, especially in Korean therapeutic situations. Further studies on this issue may contribute a great deal to a practical understanding on the process of engagement to the family.
