A Structural Equation Modeling Approach in Social Work Research

본 연구논문은 Structural Equation Modeling (이하 SEM) 접근법을 소개하고 사회사업조사를 위한 활용가능성을 살피는데 목적이 있다. 본 논문은 SEM의 기본요소들을 살펴보고 통계분석기법으로써 SEM을 활용하여 사회사업과 관련된 가설 검증절차를 보이고자 하는데, 측정모델 (measurement model)과 구조모델 (structural model), 모델수정, 모델적합지수 등을 설명하고 있으며, 스트레스과정과 관련된 실제 자료를 가지고 SEM의 분석과정을 보여주고 있다. 본 논문은 SEM의 여러 가지 장점을 제시하고 있으며 사회사업조사를 위해 SEM의 활용을 권장하고 있다.

This study was to introduce a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach and to show the applicability of SEM for social work research. This study ascribed measurement and structural models, modification of a model, and model fit indedices. This study also demonstrated various SEM procedures with a research question related to the mediating effects of cognitive control and coping on the relationship between potentially stressful circumstances and distress. This study identified several advantages of using SEM and highly recommended its usability in social wok research.
