정보기술 활용이 사회복지사의 직무성과에 미치는 조절변수로서의 영향 연구

The Impact of Information Technology as a Moderator Variable on Job Performance among Social Workers in Community Social Service Centers in Seoul Metropolitan City

본 연구는 정보기술(information technology) 활용정도가 과업특성과 사회복지사의 직무성과에 조절변수로서 어떻게 영향을 미치는가를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구목적을 위해 서울시에 소재한 55개 사회복지관의 사회복지사들이 응답한 설문지 238부(회수율 71.7%)를 분석하였다. ‘과업특성’은 ‘난이도’, ‘다양성’, ‘상호의존성’의 차원으로 접근하였고, 조절변수로서의 ‘정보기술활용정도’는 세 가지 정보기술로서 ‘전자우편’, ‘상용소프트웨어’, ‘정보시스템’에 대한 유형별 이용정도를 측정하였다. 종속변수인 ‘직무성과’는 ‘업무수행’과 ‘업무량관리’로 설정하였다. 분석결과로서 응답자들의 정보기술 유형별 활용여부는 전자우편(68.5%), 상용소프트웨어(61.8%), 정보시스템(85.7%)로 나타났고, 정보시스템의 경우 하루 평균 83분정도를 사용하고, 상용소프트웨어는 104분, 전자우편은 43분을 사용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 과업특성 중 난이도와 상호의존성 변수들의 경우 직무성과에 부정적 영향을 주는 것으로 회귀분석 결과에서 나타났다. 나아가 정보기술의 과업특성과의 상호작용 효과를 검증하는 것도 조절효과가 있다는 분석결과는 밝혀낼 수 없었다. 연구자들은 정보기술 활용정도가 아직은 사회복지관 사회복지사의 직무성과에 유의한 영향을 줄 수 있는 정도에는 미치지 못하는 것으로 추정한다.

The purpose of this study aims to investigate the impact of information technology on job performance among social workers. Researchers analyzed 238 questionnaires(response rate, 71.7%) responded by social workers who are working 55 community social service centers in Seoul Metropolitan Gity. ‘Job characteristics’ were used as ‘difficulty’, ‘variability’, and ‘inter-dependency’, and utilization of information technology as a moderator variable was treated as e-mail, commercial softwares, and information management system. Job performance as the dependent variable was defined with task performance and task load management. One of findings indicates whether respondents utilize information technology is as followed: e-mail(68.5%), commercial softwares(61.8%), and information system(85.7%). Their daily average time spent is 83 minutes for information system, 104 minutes for commercial softwares, and 43 minutes for e-mail. In addition, a regression analysis showed that difficulty and inter-dependency out of ‘job tasks’ appeared to negatively affect on job performance. Interaction between information technology and job characteristics as a moderator variable did not appear to affect on job performance. Researchers assume that utilization level of information technology among social workers has not matured yet to affect on job performance.
