To explore a reform measure on PACS environment of fluoroscopy, we investigated into change after PACS introduction in UGI series and colon study. 11 general hospitals introduced PACS and hired professional radiological technologist for fluoroscopy were made up questionnaires by e-mail on change after PACS introduction . The questionnaires consists of seven items including examination time, examiner of study, taken time from examination to reading, change of spot radiogram after PACS introduction, speediness of lesion detection, opinion on increment of spot radiogram, and matter of concern due to increment of exposure dose. The examination time was investigated into 10 to 20 minutes in over than 50% of the two. Examiner of study was radiological technologist and radiologist in all objects. Taken time from examination to reading was less or one day. In the change of spot radiogram after PACS introduction, increment of spot radiogram was more or 63.7%. In the speediness of lesion detection, increment of speediness was also 63.7%. Opinion on increment of spot radiogram was positive and negative opinion. Matter of concern due to increment of exposure dose was investigated into increment of exposure dose on patient and examiner, life shorten of equipment, and storage capacity. A reform measure for matter of concern after PACS introduction will be practice of examiners for something known on exposure dose of radiation.
