The aim of this study is to improve detection rate for early gastric cancer through the technical review of UGI series for detection and treatment of early gastric cancer. 99 patients were recommended to be taken gastroduodenofiberscopy after UGI series in health promotion center. The patients data taken gastroduodenofiberscopy of these was classified into performance rate of gastroduodenofiberscopy, mean age according to sexuality, interval period after gastroduodenofiberscopic recommendation, and findings of gastroduodenofiberscopy. The performance rate of gastroduodenofiberscopy was 49.5%(n=49). The mean age according to sexuality was 57.2 years of men and 55.7 years of women. The interval period after gastroduodenofiberscopic recommendation was 63.3%(n=31) in less or 30 day and 8.2%(n=4) in more than 180 day. In the findings of gastroduodenofiberscopy, early gastric cancer, advanced gastric cancer, submucosal tumor, and gastric ulcer counted for 24.5%(n=12), 2.0%(n=1), 12.2%(n=6), and 16.3%(n=8), respectively. A volume of 60 to 120ml of high-density and low-viscosity bariums generally sufficient in UGI series. A good barium formulation should result in routine identification of the area gastricae in the stomach. Small cancers, ulcers, gastritis, and duodenitis should be readily detectable with a high quality examination. Various external compression paddles are available and are helpful for obtaining mucosal relief views of the stomach and duodenum.
