A study on the Validity of Social Work Self-Efficacy Measure

이 연구는 사회복지전문가-자기효능감 측정도구의 타당성을 검증하기 위한 것이다. 사회복지사의 전문성이나 효능감과 관련된 연구가 진행되고 있지만 척도의 신뢰도 및 타당도와 관련하여 엄격한 평가 없이 사용되고 있다. 또한 외국척도를 번역하여 사용하는 과정에서 지표를 변형하는 등 사회복지의 전문성과 관련된 신뢰할만하고 타당한 측정도구가 제시되고 있지 못한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구는 사회복지직의 전문성을 측정하기 위한 타당한 척도가 제시될 필요성에 대한 인식하에 사회복지전문가자기효능감척도(SWSE)의 국내 사회복지영역적용을 위한 타당화 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 서울, 경기, 충청권에서 일반주의실천(지역사회복지관, 장애인복지관, 노인종합복지관)을 주로 담당하고 있는 사회복지사 537명과 실습을 이수한 사회복지전공학생 105명을 포함, 총642명을 대상으로 실천방법, 인간행동과 사회환경, 정책과 조사연구, 지지, 치료기법, 사례관리, 평가로 개념 구성된 52개 문항의 사회복지전문가 자기효능감을 측정하였다. 연구 조사된 내용에 대해 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 동질적 문항으로 분류되지 않은 지표를 제외하고 사회복지전문가의 최종자문을 통해 28개 지표로 구성된 한국판 사회복지전문가 자기효능감척도(SWSE)를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the validity of Social Work Self-Efficacy (SWSE) measure. Even though special studies of social work profession and self-efficacy are now under investigation, the reliability and validity of the measure are being used without strict evaluations. In addition, there have been some cases of transforming the indicators in the process of translating foreign measures in a Korean version. Therefore, this study investigates the validity of applying the Social Work Self-Efficacy(SWSE) measure to the field of Korean social work, recognizing that it is critical to provide the valid measure of social work profession. The subjects of this study are 642 respondents, including 537 social workers working for generalist social work practice in the community agencies in Seoul, Kyong-Gi, and Choong-Chong provinces, and 105 students majoring in social work. This study measures the self-efficacy of social workers through 52 items which consists of ESSW(i.e., social work practice, human behavior and social environment, social policy and research) and PSI(i.e., psychotherapeutic, case management, and evaluation). This study excludes 24 items which are not grouped as homogeneous through factor analysis. Finally, this study provides a Korean version of Social Work Self-Efficacy (SWSE) measure which is composed of 28 items, after the final consultation of social work professionals.
