The Utility Enlargement Program by Watching Video before UGI Examination

Purpose : Upper Gastrointenstinal(UGI) fluoroscopy examination make a diagnosis of the early gastic cancer. The exam have being incresed every year, but it is limited and patients feel dissatisfation. As We made and show test video, We want to make patients understood the exam and improve the satisfaction. Materials and methods : May-September 2008, Patients for cancer of the stomach to the survey was implemented in National Health Insurance Corporation. We were research two times. first was verbal description, second was test video watching. 340 people were responding to the survey. 120 people were men(35%), 220 were women(65%). Among all age groups, 40 age group were 72 people(21%), ED age group were 130 people(38%), over 60 age group were 138 people(41%). 153 of 340 people have experience this exam before. We compared fluoroscopy time average, satisfaction, understanding of UGI test through the data surveyed. Results : ‘Do you satisfied with description of pre-test?’ to the question of people prefer watching movies more (increase 25%). ‘Description of pre- test was helpful?’ to the question of people were increase 25% in satisfaction. ‘What is most satisfied parts?’ to the question of people were select description of pre-test. The second increase in two times. It was compared to the first survey. ‘What is most dissatisfactory parts?’ to the question of people were select waiting time. However it can be decrease through description of pre-test. Also Decrease in test time is possible through description of pre-test. Conclusion : As medical services is getting proved, we have to explain the examination. Now it is not optional but necessary. Showing the video before the examination, it helps them understood about the examination. This research demonstrates that test video improves the interest of examination and satisfaction. As the examination time is reduced, moreover, more examination supply demand for people. For the future Making the test video that it have people understood easily apply to different examinations.
