고등학생 학습참여에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

Factors Affecting High School Student Engagement

본 연구는 일반고등학교 학생의 학습참여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 이연구에서 제시된 연구문제를 분석하기 위하여 한국교육개발원의 「학교교육 실태및 수준 분석」의 초·중·고등학교의 1~4주기 자료 중 현재 이용 가능한 최근 자료인 4주기(2012년) 고등학교 자료를 활용하여 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 최종적으로 분석에 사용된 고등학교 자료는 161개교에 재학 중인 10,310명의 고등학생이다. 학습참여에 어떠한 변수가 영향을 미치는지를 분석한 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 국어 학습참여와 수학 학습참여에 이전 학교급 성적, 방과후학교 참여 여부, 부모의 교육 기대 수준, 부모의 교육적 지원, 그리고 교사의 지원이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 본 연구에서도 학습참여에 교사의 지원이 긍정적으로 영향을 끼친다는 부 분은 교사의 중요성을 다시 한 번 실증적으로 보여주는 결과라고 생각한다. 교사의지원이 학생의 학습참여에 긍정적으로 영향을 끼친다는 본 연구결과와 더불어 해외사례를 통해서도 나타난 바와 같이, 우리나라도 학교교육의 정상화와 학생의 학습참 여를 이끌어내기 위해서는 학생과 교사간의 신뢰회복이 먼저 시작되어야 한다.

This study investigates what factors influence the student engagement in general high school. In order to analyze the research problem, the regression analysis was conducted using the 4th cycle (2012) high school data, which is the most recent oneof the 1 ~ 4 period data of elementary, middle, and high school. The results of analyzing how variables affect student engagement are presented as follows. The results of this study are as follows : the student engagement in Korean language learning and engagement in mathematics learning are influenced by previous school grade, participation of after-school, expectation level of parents, educational support of parents, and teacher support. In particular, it is considered that the part where teacher support positively affects the student engagement is the result of demonstrating the importance of teacher’s role. We suggest that the restoration of trust between students and teachers is critical to normalize schooling and increase student engagement in their learning.
