교육연극을 활용한 수학 수업에서 나타나는 학습자의 수학 교과 역량과 정의적 특성 분석

An Analysis of the Mathematics Subject Competency and Affective Characteristics in Mathematics Classes Using Drama-In-Education

본 연구는 교육연극을 활용한 일차방정식 수업을 개발하고, 실제 수업에서 학생들의 수학 교과 역량과 정의적 특성이 어떻게 나타나는지 살펴보고자 2017년 6월 19일부터 6월 30일까지 중학교 1학년 5개 학급 150명을 대상으로 총 20차시, 2주간 수업 을 실시했다. 매 차시 활동지(연극대본, 활동·감상 소감)와 의사소통 관찰일지, 수업후 실시한 학생 및 교사 면담 자료를 분석하여 질적 연구로 진행했다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들은 대본 작성과 대사 암기 및 연습을 통 해 스스로 문제해결, 추론, 의사소통, 창의·융합, 정보처리, 태도 및 실천의 6가지 수학 교과 역량을 구현하고 강화시켰다. 둘째, 교육연극을 활용한 수학 수업은 학생들의 수학에 대한 흥미, 자기효능감, 가치인식, 자기조절, 수학불안 해소에 매우 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 이는 교육연극을 활용한 수학 수업이 학습자의 성장에 대한 정보를 얻는데 활용될 수 있고, 학습자 중심의 교수·학습활동으로서 수학교육 목표에 도달하는 데 큰 역할을 하는 것을 시사한다. 교육연극이 수학 교실에서 더욱 효과적이고 실천적인 교수·학습 방법이 될 수 있도록 후속 연구로 학생들의 진로와 적성을 고려한 다양한 연극 프로그램 개발이 필요함을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the mathematics subject competency and the affective characteristics of the 7th grade students in linear equation lesson using the Drama–In-Education(DIE) are presented. The instructional model using the DIE was constructed based on the DIE-4phase and analyzed the qualitative case through the activity paper (Drama scripts, activity sheets and reflection), records of communication observation during the activity, and student and teacher interviews. The results of this study are as follows. First, the mathematics class using the DIE reinforces six mathematics subject competencies: ‘problem solving’, ‘reasoning’, ‘communication’, ‘creativity and convergence’, ‘data processing’, ‘attitude and practice’. Second, the mathematics class using the DIE has a very positive effect on the students affective Characteristics of mathematics: ‘interest’, ‘self-efficacy’, ‘recognition of value’, ‘self-regulation’, ‘math anxiety’ This suggests that mathematics instruction using DIE will do much in reaching the goal of mathematics education as a learner - centered teaching - learning activity. It is suggested that the DIE programs of mathematics that is appropriate for the students’ career and aptitude needs to be developed and research in various contents area is required to continue as a follow-up study so that the DIE becomes a practical teaching and learning method in the mathematics classroom.
